BLOG: The Best Support
Isn't it incredible how fast life can change. In a heart beat, a stranger could become a best friend. Over the past few months, I have met some incredible people, and I am so honored to have them in my life, even when I don't deserve it.
Some of my best friends I have never physically met, yet we are able to connect on such a level which renders that simple fact invalid. Melissa, this comment is especially for you.
The majority of my friends have been met at a gas station. How crazy is that?!?! I would have never thought that my life could be changed by such a simple place. No matter what my life throws at me, I have a much brighter recovery, and an easier change based on these wonderful girls, and the two guys. ;)
If it is not a gas station, a simple Facebook post has connected me to several other friends. I found my brother from another mother on a Facebook post, and I am glad to be a part of their lives.
No matter what I face, my support network is constantly growing. I am so honored to know these wonderful people. They have done so much to change my life for the better, and I don't know what I ever did to deserve it.
As some of you may know, I suffer from social anxiety. Many times, I can't go to the grocery store without having a panic attack. If I am able to go, usually I have to bring headphones, and focus on the task at hand to successfully complete my goal.
When I face a hard time, I know that these friends are here for me, and I know that I am able to reach out to them to continue fighting through whatever issue is at hand. Sometimes, I call certain people. Other times, I cry so hard for anyone to sit on the ground with me and help me out, sometimes literally.
I continue to meet life goals through the help from these wonderful people. I constantly develop stronger bonds and connections, and with their hands out as far as they can go, I know that my friends will help me become a better person, and that they wont let me down.
